Angus Watkins is an artist based in Wilyabrup within the deep southwest of Western Australia that is the Margaret river wine region. He creates imaginative objects, figures and landscapes with his distinct illustrative mark making made in whatever mediums at hand.  He has a penchant for humour that could be best described as absurd and is deeply fascinated with history and semiotics. In essence he driven by a desire to create something that feels new, something never seen before, and is as much enamoured by the philosophical process of creating as what can be created.  Beyond art even, this is a need to understand everything about the world.
